Our Mechanic Class Series consists of four sections which are intended to cover all the basics of bicycle building and repair. ReCYCLEry workers will teach hands-on mechanic skills at a more in-depth level than during our usual Saturday and Sunday workshops.
Workshop 1 – General Bike Maintenance: Biking Basics and Changing Flats
Workshop 2 – Braking Basics and Fixing Brake Problems
Workshop 3 – Working with Shifting and Derailleur Systems
Workshop 4 – Hands-On Workshop: Practice Skills with Instructors
All skill levels are encouraged to attend the Mechanic Classes. We strongly believe that you can’t become an expert without first mastering the basics. Learning more about bike repair and functionality is a useful, life-long skill that you can use as a cyclist and to assist others.
Over 80 skilled mechanics have already graduated through our program and are making an impact in the community. If you have any interest in gaining these valuable skills and becoming an integral member of this influential and sustainable bicyclist movement, join this informative class series.
Each class is held at The ReCYCLEry’s main workshop on 108 N. Graham Street, Carrboro NC.
